This elegant early-1940s Chippendale-style chest features a classic serpentine front, beautifully matched burl veneers, and refined craftsmanship throughout. The standout detail is the pull-out writing drawer, fitted with an inset leather writing surface with tooled borders—an uncommon and highly desirable feature that adds both function and charm.
The chest offers four graduated drawers with original period-appropriate brass hardware and dovetailed construction. The case sits on bracket-style feet in the traditional Chippendale manner, and the top displays richly figured veneer with warm patination from age.
