The vases are … Read more A pair of Chinese baluster vases together with an earlier Nanking Chinese export blue and white dish. The vases are an interesting flat baluster form, and delicately decorated on all sides, dating ca. first half of the 20th century. Various landscape scenes with mountains, phoenixes and trees fill the flat planes of the sides. The Nanking dish dates to the early 19th century, of excellent quality, ca. 1820. The Nanking pattern is a wonderfully detailed version of the teahouse studded estuary landscape found in the more common Canton pattern. Good antique condition with a tight hairline at right hand rim. Vases are in very good condition. Some irregularities to the glazes of all, as made.
