Shaped in a graceful scalloped oval with softly flared edges, the lid features a delicately modeled classical cameo profile, a serene figure crowned with laurel leaves, set within an ornate, raised gilt frame. Surrounding the central medallion are finely molded rose garlands and wreaths, all rendered in matte white bisque that contrasts beautifully with the gentle blush-rose shading washed across the lid.

The borders are enriched with hand-applied gold paint, forming a patterned rim of stylized foliage that enhances the box’s sculptural silhouette. Its tactile, unglazed surface and subtle color transitions give it the refined softness typical of high-quality Thuringian porcelain of the period.

Measuring 5.25 inches wide, 3.75 inches deep, and 2.25 inches high, the box is perfectly sized for rings, brooches, and cherished keepsakes. The underside bears an authentic late-19th-century German maker’s mark from the Schwarza region of Thuringia, confirming its heritage and craftsmanship. Good antique condition with no chips.
