Later professionally painted in layered soft shades of blue and lightly distressed to fit the age and grace of this elegant pine commode. Contrasting top has distressed faux marble finish, typical of the orginal era with antique white, gray, and blue tones.
Restored, drawers function with brass pulls, chest is ready to use and enjoy. Drawer bottoms have extensive age-related separations. Note old cracks along top and back. Drawers function while no longer fitting snuggly (see detailed photos). No locks nor keys.
All scratches, cracks, dings, nicks and age related separation are reflective of 300 years of use and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this chest which will also serve well as a nightstand.
