This Russian Soviet Union metal strongbox or money box features a repeating Russian Folk Art floral design, with Slavic Cyrillic text on the inside of the lid and backside of the box that translates to: Gorky Regional Union of Producers Cooperatives, Lyskovo Metalworker Artel, 1935.
A substantial metal latch clasps it securely closed. The inside enamel and decoration are shiny and well-preserved, providing functional storage for most purposes. The outside has a naturally weathered, rustic patina due to the elements it was exposed to during its journey from Russia to America, sometime after 1935, and eventually landing in Eugene, Oregon.
