The bird + … Read more Design Plus Gallery presents a Limited Edition Etching by Mireille Kramer, born 1932, Egypt from Ethan Allen. The bird + flower motif is one that was found in many of the artist's work, circa 1980's. Intaglio Etching and Aquatint, signed and numbered in pencil by artist. Visible wear; condition is fair for age and use.

"A contemporary Israeli painter and printmaker, Mireille Kramer immigrated from Egypt to Israel in 1951, enrolled at the Hebrew University and then studied etching techniques at the University of Milan, went to Paris and continued her art education at the Ecole de Louvre and at the Academie Julian. Finally, the artist completed her education at the Pratt Institute in New York. As early as 1957 the art of Mireille Kramer received national recognition when she was awarded the Millerman Prize at the Young Artists of Israel Exhibition. Since that time her original prints and paintings have been included in exhibitions at such major galleries as the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Mussee National d’Art Moderne, Paris, and at the Tel Aviv Gallery."
