The sculptural silhouette—with twisted handles, domed lid and floral finial—reflects Regency taste for richly ornamental forms. The hand-modelled flowers provide dimensional contrast against the painted roses and anemones.

The underglaze cobalt “C Dale” mark is a rare early abbreviation associated with the Coalbrookdale workshops, recorded on only a small group of ornamental pieces.
