A beautiful antique mercantile large metal toleware countertop display/dispenser. Circa early to mid 1900’s, this once sat on a countertop in a General Store, and would have been used to hold teas, coffees, and even gunpowder. Hand painted with intricate gold stenciling and the center image of a young Victorian ebony haired boy. Has most of it's original black and gold paint with wonderful age expected wear to finish. A beautiful patina that add charm and character. Original knob still intact. The dispenser has a revolving display scroll to show the different kinds of teas, or coffee, or other rations. Very clean inside and would work beautifully in a kitchen as a bread box or just as a beautiful display piece.
