Up for sale is a beautiful Highboy dresser / chest of drawers that is a part of a 5 piece … Read more Up for sale is a beautiful Highboy dresser / chest of drawers that is a part of a 5 piece bedroom set from roughly the late 1930's. This set came from the family of the original owners in Brooklyn N.Y, and has been in the family together since new! The set includes a highboy dresser / chest, a mirrored dresser, a vanity, a clock mounted nightstand, and a headboard. It is very difficult to find such well kept antique bedroom furniture let alone a complete matching set this large! Each piece is beautifully detailed, and looks even more impressive in person. The set is made of a walnut base with gorgeous burl wood inlay. All of the pieces have their original matching hardware and all of the drawers are held together with dovetail pegs. Both dressers are mounted on wheels to allow for easy movement when desired. The Vanity and dresser both have a 3 pane framed mirror that can be easily detached for shipping. The mirrors have belveled edges, and both contain two smaller mirrors surrounding a larger center mirror. The mirrors are original and are in great condition for their age, having no cracks or chips. There does not appear to be any makers marks on any of the pieces, however on the back they all have a code 1036 or 1037 followed by a dash and the name of the piece. The mirrored dresser and vanity both also have an antique moving sticker from " The Roma Co Moving" company in Brooklyn NY, but I could not find any info on them. Stunning set that shows off in person better than phtots can capture. Please keep in mind that this set is nearly 100 years old. It has never been fully restored but im sure it has been touched up in places over the years and is not perfect. There is no damage beyond normal use but there are imperfecctions that come with age!
