The poster print is published by The Tel Aviv Museum, printed in 1980 in Israel in an unnumbered limited edition by L. Malis, on the occasion of the " Contemporary British Drawings " exhibition in the summer of 1980. It features an artwork image originally created by Hockney in 1973 titled " Celia, Paris ", copyright 1980. The British Council and The Tel Aviv Museum, photolitho Reprocolor Ltd.

David Hockney ( B. 1937 ) is an English painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. He is an important contributor to The Pop Art Movement of the 1960's. He is considered one of the most influential British artists of The 20th Century. His artworks have commanded greater popular acclaim than any other Contemporary British artist. The Pop Art Expressionist style artworks have been the subject of more than 400 solo exhibitions. Art works by Hockney are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

Celia Birtwell ( B. 1941 ) is a British textile and fashion designer, known for her distinctive bold, romantic and feminine designs, which are influenced by Picasso and Matisse, and the Classical world. She is well known for her prints which epitomized the 1960's / 1970's. Celia has been a muse for David Hockney since 1968, and features in many of his artworks including " Mr and Mrs Clark Percy " 1970, one of Hockney's most viewed masterpiece paintings at The Tate London.

While Hockney is perhaps best known for portraits of his male friends and lovers, he also dedicated a significant part of his oeuvre to painting, drawing, and making prints of his lifetime female friend and recurring muse Celia Birtwell. Since their first meeting in the 1960's, Celia has sat for Hockney on more than eighty occasions, her likeness features in a bout a quarter of his printed portraits. Through Hockney's images of Celia, the artist's stylistic developments, variations in techniques and media, as well as his attitude to portraiture are revealed and celebrated.

The rare out of print framed lithograph print museum exhibition poster measures 19 7/8" W X 27 1/2" H X 1 1/2" D.

It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern variegated driftwood charcoal gray woodgrain style recessed detail matte eggshell finish metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age, very light signs of handling, and very light minor wear.
