Beautifully constructed and formed Artisan Copper Candlesticks.
Present as Arts & Crafts and/or Deco era - likely American - late 19th / early 20th C.
A Pair - Set of Two.
8" tall - 3" diameter at the base - fit a 1" wide candle.
Unsigned or marked, but the fine level of finish (perfect seams!) suggest they are gallery pieces, constructed to a very high standard.
In keeping with Aesop's fable, Fox and Crow's Motto is "Beware of False Flattery!" So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...
We love copper, particularly in beautifully executed forms that you don't often see.
Well, boom!
And they came from a very fine Virginia collector, who does not mess around with "almost" anything.
The seams and detailing on these, the graceful shapes, the nice weight - they present as fine studio pieces, and have a wonderful presence on an interesting table.
A small painting, stack of really good (and handsome) books, perhaps a favorite piece of porcelain...and these. That is a successful vignette!
