We were fortunate to recently find this 1929 French Art Deco lithograph that features a bejeweled woman. It is particularly rare because it is the original cover of a magazine of the time. Magazine cover art is highly collectible and difficult to find in good condition as it is highly susceptible to rips, stains, discolorations, etc. This image is PRISTINE! It is NOT a recent reproduction print. It is remarkably clean with strong color and wonderful contrast. Nos Loisirs (leisure activites) featured articles about pursuits, passions and interests for a feminine audience.. This issue showcased jewelry from the Art Deco period. Note the exquisite details of the jewelry and the hint of the lush fur wrap draped on the woman's shoulder. Note, too, the Art Deco elements with the profile styling, the shadowing, the background designs and the contrasting coloring of the frame details. The image is dated and signed by the artist.
