Offered is a set of 6 Glacier or Flint Bark pattern textured highball glasses designed by Geoffrey Baxter for the Whitefriars Glassworks, UK.
While the look is very of the era, reminiscent of Scandinavian grandmasters, Whitefriars Glassworks was in business in the late 1840s. This pattern was several of the textured range of glassware that Baxter designed for the company, and were in production from 1967 through 1980. They feature his signature scalloped medallion shaped base.
They measure 3" diameter, 5.5" tall
Geoffrey Baxter joined the design team in 1954 and launched his very successful textured glass range in 1967, which included bark vases, the banjo vase, as well as the drunken bricklayer vase. The Whitefriars factory closed in 1980.
