Here we have an adorable antique wicker Barbola funeral basket. This one is from my personal collection and it does have missing gesso. PLEASE examine the photos. The losses are worse on one side. The side I had facing out is only missing the tip of one leaf. This kind of patina doesn’t bother me as I don’t mind signs of age. However if you’re looking for a pristine basket this isn’t it.
Measurements are 20 inches tall and the handle is 10 inches wide at the widest point. The basket itself is 5.75 inches tall and 5 inches wide across the top and approximately 3.5 inches across the bottom.
Structurally strong with all original paint. An absolutely darling old basket and lovely for any collection… thanks for looking!!!
