The … Read more This is an unusual glider or rocking bench with colonial American styling that is very fun to sit in!

The glider is made of solid oak with a Windsor style back. The glider’s high back consists of 5 turned posts topped with acorn finials, shaped top rails, and 12 slender spindles. The wide flat arms are supported by 3 turned spindles each. The rounded rectangular seat is sprung, but the original seat cushion and back cushions are missing. The included seat cushion is newer but bare and needs to be covered. The underside of the seat is stamped Towne Square, 1994, Hillsboro, TX.

The late 20th century glider is in good vintage condition. The gliding mechanism functions perfectly and offers a smooth gliding experience. The bench itself is very sturdy, and the seat springs are tight and intact. However, the original cushions for the seat and back are missing. The included cushion lacks a cover. (The fabric shown is just a bed sheet to indicate how it would look upholstered.) There is also a repaired crack on a piece of the base that is not weight supporting. Minor wear on the oak frame. The glider measures 46.5" wide, 32" deep, and 39.5" tall with a 16.5" seat height (including the cushion) and 25" arm height. The newer seat cushion measures 38" by 20" and is 2 inches thick. See less
