It's a very muted gilt color, and the wire to hang it is also very old. I love the carved wooden bow on the top - it's one piece of wood! You can't beat the craftsmanship of these older pieces! The entire frame is made of wood with a plaster overlay. Wonderful detail, but not ostentatious as some gilt plaster frames tend to be. Put a beveled mirror or an oil painting in this frame and it will be lovely! See less
