This original vintage poster, The Parisian View of the World from the Champs-Élysées—created after Saul Steinberg’s iconic cover illustration for The New Yorker—was published in Paris in 1984 by R&N Publishing House. Steinberg’s satirical image, View of the World from 9th Avenue, first appeared on the March 29, 1976 cover of The New Yorker and quickly became a sensation, humorously depicting Manhattan as the center of the universe. It went on to achieve worldwide fame and is now widely regarded as a 20th-century design icon. Parisians wanted their own version for their beloved city, and the result was this 1984 poster, produced in Paris.
