This is a very sweet pair of Stevengraphs finely woven from silk, of the royal couple looking their best. They are housed in beautiful gesso frames that measure 9 inches by 11 inches. I haven't taken them apart to measure the nice weavings but the opening they are shown through measures 5 1/2 inches high by 3 1/2 inches wide. The reds, yellows and silver of the jewelry have a beautiful shiny luster but there is some slight age discoloration to the lighter shades of silk and the mats and some minor damage to the frames.
Stevengraphs were woven pictures produced by the jacquard weaving technology, made mostly from the early 1860's to the early 1900's.
