I believe it is hand painted and it is signed on the front and back. The plate has a scalloped rim and raised scrolls that are painted gold. The plate is marked International Porcelain Artists and Teachers Inc. and is from Dallas Texas. It is registered and numbered 01332. It is signed on the front Mary Blake, and it is signed on the back Hand Painted for You with Love, Mother 1981.

While I beliveve, based on the signature and the back that it is hand painted-it does not exactly look hand painted. There are no brush strokes or palette knife marks-honestly, the design looks applied. It is still a lovely plate, but it does not appear to be hand painted. But I would guess it is not dishwasher or microwave safe.

The plate measures 10 1/8 inches at the widest point.

The plate has no wear, no damage, no chips. It’s in perfect condition with no gold loss. I am just a bit confused by the whole hand painted part. See less
