A rare set of five original Worpswede chairs dating from around 1900–1910. These chairs combine the ideas of the English Arts & Crafts movement with the North German reform furniture tradition of the Worpswede artists' colony. Characteristic features include the hand-carved geometric decoration, the openwork backrest, and the original rush-woven seats in the typical Worpswede pattern.
