A charming hand-carved and hand-painted bombé chest crafted in the Venetian/Tuscan tradition. This two-drawer commode features beautifully executed chinoiserie relief carvings across the front, sides, and top: pagodas, birds, bridges, figures, and nature motifs, all rendered in a raised, textural technique that gives the piece incredible depth and personality.
The chest is finished in a warm, sun-washed yellow lacquer with a lightly distressed patina, enhancing its Old-World European character. Cabriole legs, carved apron details, and the classic serpentine bombé silhouette complete the look.
