The exposed frame pays homage to the early 19th-century Empire period and features exquisite hand-carved detailing drawn from ancient influences, including stylized anthemion carvings on the arm supports and decorative reeding. The front legs terminate in dramatic lion's paw or claw feet, a classic motif reflecting the Greek and Egyptian fascination prevalent in the original Empire style and revived in the early 20th century.

Recently restored to the highest standards by our in-house craftspeople, this chair has been fully repadded, resprung and newly upholstered in a vibrant Schumacher hot pink corduroy fabric. Hand-placed black nail heads trim the exterior over a matching hot pink gimp. This bold, modern color choice creates a sophisticated contrast with the antique espresso frame. Comfortable and roomy.
