It is indeed heavy art glass but there is a style represented by the Murano art glass that is present in the styling and blending of colors that bring to mind the firing and end product that is representative of the Murano glass blowing style. Still Hospodka is right up there with any of the great Murano masters such as Salviati. This vase were made in the mid-60's. This vase along with two other were purchased at the same time from a young lady who wished to see her grandparents who lived in Czechia. I was more than pleased to assist in her traveling plans. Czech glass has a long story for creating high quality decorative glass that have been produced in that region for centuries. It was cut with wheels and today the same artisans are using the same techniques that have been used since the 12th century. See less
