This vintage stoneware bottle was produced by H. Kennedy of Barrowfield Pottery in Glasgow, a noted 19th- and early 20th-century manufacturer known for utilitarian salt-glazed wares. The form represents the classic cylindrical ginger beer bottle profile with a narrow neck and applied lip.
The two-tone surface reflects traditional dip glazing, a method used widely in British bottle production for durability and liquid resistance. Barrowfield wares were distributed regionally across Scotland and Northern England, making surviving stamped examples important material evidence of early commercial beverage packaging. The bottle’s weight, glaze variation, and impressed maker’s mark align with standard Barrowfield workshop practices.
