Item: Large “Sommerso” Block Vase
Attribution: Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte (Unsigned) by Murano Glass/Italian Art Glass for GLGD.
Origin: Murano, Venice, Italy
Era: Mid-Century Modern (c. 1960s)
Design & Features
Form: A monumental square column (nearly 12 inches tall) featuring Poli's signature geometric, architectural lines.
Technique: "Sommerso" (submerged) glasswork.
Color Palette: A deep ruby/purple core suspended within a layer of clear, encased in heavy pale blue crystal.
Condition
Status: Very good vintage condition.
Notes: There is one small "flea bite" chip along one of the vertical edges (see detailed photo). This is only visible if that specific side is presented forward; the vase displays flawlessly from the other angles. There is no other significant wear or cloudiness.
