Original hand colored wood engraving from the January 6, 1877, issue of Harper's Weekly, titled "Santa Claus Round the World". It presents a satirical look at how Santa Claus might appear and what he might bring to different parts of the world, contrasting the traditional American Christmas with more stereotypical depictions of other regions. Central Depiction: A large, traditional Santa Claus holding a tray with a roasted turkey, cider, and other food items, labeled "What he brought to our house". Regional Depictions: Smaller vignettes show "Santa Claus in Europe", "In Asia", and "In Africa" with culturally stereotypical items and attire, contrasting with "In America" which shows a well-dressed couple and a turkey.
