This copper warmer has a reservoir at the base meant to be filled with hot water to keep the food on the oval ceramic plate warm. The brass spout has a screw in cap [picture 7].
The ceramic plate is fixed on the copper base, it can not be removed. It has some crazing with dark spots, it clearly has been well loved.
