Schierholz & sohn, plaue, and featuring a reticulated bowl supported above a wreath of applied roses. Four musical putti form a complete ensemble beneath the bowl. The soft modelling and floral decoration reflect the dresden/rococo revival aesthetic that characterised plaue’s early twentieth-century production.

the mandolin-playing putto has a loss to part of one wing and a small loss to the mandolin handle; the flautist has a small loss to the flute. Expected rubbing to the gilding. Otherwise excellent antique condition.
