Antique set of nine Longwy Byzantine blue transferware ironstone, terre de fer, hollow plates from the late 19th century. Beautiful decoration in a very Art Nouveau pattern with an underlying decoration in relief.
The factory stamp is clear on the underside with the pattern name, Byzantine Longwy, terre de fer, ironstone. The faïencerie et émaux (ceramic and enamel) creators of Longwy begun their business in 1798 and are still producing today.
They are in good condition, without chips or cracks. There is small signs of previous use commensurate with age: tea stain marks and some discolouration spotting.
I would NOT recommend cleaning in a dish washer, the modern detergents can damage the transferware.
