This piece is a magnificent example of antique craftsmanship, estimated to date back to the early 1900s or earlier.

Subject and Style: Rich Renaissance/Baroque Revival design. The body is entirely decorated in bas-relief with a continuous scene depicting figures (putti or children) playing and dancing around trees in a landscape. The upper edge is wavy and decorated.

Material and Finish: Crafted entirely of solid cast bronze and extremely heavy (5 kg), as required for its function. It features a beautiful and authentic dark patina from its age and has not been polished.

Base: The mortar rests on a solid, wide, decorated circular base, cast in one piece with the body, ensuring perfect stability.

Ideal for collectors of antique bronzes and apothecary objects, or as a striking decorative piece for a kitchen, tavern, or study.
