Discover the timeless elegance of this early 20th-century French Aubusson tapestry featuring a captivating design inspired by the 15th-century museum tapestry based on the series of famous tapestries in Cluny museum, "Dame à la licorne” (Lady with the Unicorn). Titled “Le Goût” (The Taste), this tapestry from the series, the Lady, a parakeet on her fist, her little dog on her train, draws from the bezel presented to her by her companion. One of the five senses is evoked here by the monkey who puts something in his mouth: Taste. A fence decorated with roses rises at the bottom of the mound. Woven finely with precision in wool at a renowned workshops in Aubusson, using a low warp (basse lisse) loom characteristic of Aubusson craftsmanship.
