Set of 6 antique French Barbotine or Majolica small plates featuring a textured design with different fruit and floral reliefs characteristic of the late 19th to early 20th century French ceramic craftsmanship. Each plates is hand glazed and marked on the back "Modele Depose" that translates to "registered design".
The Barbotine earthenware is known for its naturalistic, three-dimensional designs and vibrant glazes. This technique involves applying slip (liquid clay) to the object to create a raised pattern before glazing and firing.
