This splendid 18th century Louis XIV commode is fashioned from richly grained walnut, now glowing with a deep and beautiful patina acquired over many generations. The façade is arranged with two smaller drawers above two broad, generously proportioned drawers, each framed by gracefully shaped moldings that create a soft and pleasing movement across the front. A scalloped apron lends a final note of provincial charm and lightens the substantial form.
