Handsome and beautifully detailed artisan wood figure of a proper Gent.

11.5" tall by 4.5" wide by 3" deep.

Believe it to be early 20th C. - may have been a part of a larger display or retail presentation.

Beautiful paint work - medium blue tail coat, ochre mustard yellow vest, red bow tie, with black top hat and shoes.

Right hand is extended as if to shake hands, and has a small catch - could be used for a lantern, holy ornament, or another fun attachment.

Eyes, mouth, chin, and nose are well defined and proportioned - very appealing overall.

Showing some patina but does not detract - adds a period authenticity, in fact.

In keeping with Aesop's fable, Fox and Crow's Motto is "Beware of False Flattery!" So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...

This is one of those charming objects that is just inherently appealing. It asks to be placed in a choice location in an interesting home - where folks will see it and ask themselves "hmmmm..."
