Each figure measures approximately 6.5 inches wide by 15 inches high and stands with hands on hips in classic folk poses- one wearing a pleated skirt and bonnet, the other in a buttoned vest and cap- evoking Dutch, Germanic, or Alpine regional costume. Their expressive faces and softly worn patina give them a warm, time-worn character that feels both storybook and architectural. The figures are mounted to their original forged iron log supports, which show honest age and surface oxidation consistent with antique fireplace use. The contrast between the dark iron and the golden bronze tones creates beautiful depth and texture, and the sculptural quality allows them to read as decorative objects even when not in use.
