An exceptional piece of Polish Art Glass from the late 1970s/early 1980s, designed by the renowned Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz for Huta Tarnowiec.
This substantial vessel takes the form of a stylized tankard, featuring a cylindrical body in a soft, opaline pink (often referred to as selenium pink or rosaline). The piece is grounded by distinctive architectural rings at the base, giving it a strong Postmodern / Memphis Group aesthetic. A large, clear glass handle is applied using the hot-work technique, creating a beautiful contrast with the pastel body.
While functionally a tankard, this item is primarily a decorative object (Art Glass). It serves perfectly as a statement vase, a unique desk accessory for pens, or a standalone sculptural piece on a bookshelf.
