The Op Art serigraph print is a page from a large format fine art calendar of Mid Century Modern serigraph prints published by Dumont Art, printed in an unnumbered limited edition in West Germany in 1970, in association with Universe Books New York City. It features an artwork image originally created by Vasarely in 1964 titled " Planetarische Folklore " ( Planetary Folklore ), Vorlage : Galerie Der Spiegel, Koln.

Victor Vasarely ( 1906 - 1997 ) was a Hungarian-French artist, who is widely accepted as the " Grandfather " and leader of The Op Art Movement. He studied at The Muller Workshop in the 1920's, then recognized as Budapest's center of Bauhaus studies, later in the 1930's moving to Paris where he would work as a graphic artist and creative consultant in advertising agencies. He eventually went on to produce art and sculpture using optical illusion over the next three decades. He developed his style of Geometric Abstract Art, working in various materials but always using a minimal number of forms and colors to create his singular style. Artworks by Vasarely are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

The rare out of print framed Mid Century Modern serigraph calendar print measures 23" W X 29 1/2" H X 1 1/2" D.

It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass, presented in a top mounted presentation on black matt board, in a Contemporary Modern recessed beveled detail matte eggshell finish black wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The calendar print is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age, very light signs of handling, and very light minor wear.
