This Bernard Buffet “Le Clown JoJo” mid-century lithograph captures the artist’s signature angular lines and haunting expression, with bold contrasts of red, yellow, and black that convey both intensity and melancholy. Born in Paris in 1928, Buffet rose to prominence as one of France’s leading post-war artists, celebrated for his distinctive linear style and emotional precision. His works, which have achieved multimillion-dollar auction results, remain enduring symbols of 20th-century modernism. Even his lithographs have seen strong results with one print, Circus Dancer, selling for £86,080 in 2012.
