Born in Paris in 1928, Buffet rose to prominence as one of France’s leading post-war artists, celebrated for his distinctive linear style and emotional precision. His works, which have achieved multimillion-dollar auction results, remain enduring symbols of 20th-century modernism. Even his lithographs have seen strong results with one print, Circus Dancer, selling for £86,080 in 2012.
