Fabulous mcm Santa napkins by Tammis Keefe. Tammis Keefe was a prominent American textile designer known for her imaginative and witty designs, particularly on handkerchiefs and scarves. She was born Margaret Thomas Keefe in 1913. And she initially studied mathematics before switching to art at the Chouinard Art Institute. She worked for Disney Studios and as an art director for Arts & Architecture magazine before establishing herself as a textile designer. Keefe was known for her vibrant patterns, bold colors, and diverse motifs inspired by travel, nature, and animals.
Keefe produced an estimated 400 designs in her lifetime before her death in 1960. Her fabric goods are highly collectible and can be found in museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Cooper Hewitt.
She created many Christmas-themed designs, including handkerchiefs and cocktail napkins featuring motifs like Santa Claus, Noel, and various holiday scenes.
Ours is a set of five. They are perfect to use as napkins or frame for some nostalgic holiday decor. These are pre-owned items so please see all pictures and ask any questions.
