Each pillow features an extraordinary 19th-century French appliqué, hand-embroidered in real gold metallic thread and chenille, originally part of an ornate decorative panel. The appliqués depict richly layered florals in warm tones of russet, gold, and olive, their textures and metallic highlights beautifully preserved and brought forward into a new context.

The antique motifs have been carefully hand-applied onto a luxurious sage-green contemporary velvet, creating a soft, luminous backdrop that enhances the dimensionality of the embroidery.
