Fortuny fabrics are ideal for a wide range of interior design applications, from elegant upholstery and wallcoverings to refined drapery, window treatments, and decorative pillows. Each textile blends artisanal craftsmanship with timeless design, offering unmatched beauty and durability for luxury residential and commercial projects.
From his early beginnings, Fortuny’s deep curiosity about how things work, what they are made of, and how they become what they are led him to approach work through interdisciplinary lenses of art, technology, and science.
He was inspired by ancient Venice, Greece, Egypt, Florence, Persia, Asia, South America, and the Far East. Transforming historic source material into distinctively modern expressions, his innovative methods of creativity differentiate him from his contemporaries.
Fortuny created his own formulations of dyes and pigments based on ancient techniques of the masters, giving his materials an aura of authentic antiquity. Incredibly durable with an otherworldly essence, his pieces were so mystifying that rumors of sorcery and magic abounded and Fortuny came to be known as the “magician of Venice.”
"For over a century, our fabrics have been crafted by hand in Venice using techniques pioneered by Mariano Fortuny himself, each piece a meditation in artistry and time. Now, for those too eager to wait, we present our ready-to-own collection: the same artisans, the same singular methods, the same Giudecca workshop—stunning accessories finished and awaiting you."
"From our original factory on the island of Giudecca in Venice, we continue our deep rooted tradition of art and alchemy, proudly carrying forward the inventive methods created by our founder over a century ago."
