We purchased these rarities in France. … Read more This is a RARE SET of 2 "unfindable" furniture lithographs that date to 1878. We purchased these rarities in France. They feature furniture table leg designs. They are the work of Auguste Pequegnot (1819-1878) who was an accomplished painter and engraver who worked in Paris. The images came from a portfolio published in 1878. Pequegnot did series of elaborate XVI, XVII, and XVIII century carved wood furnishings. Note the documentation at the bottom of the drawings. They are large images and the centerfolds are faintly visible. The lithographs show print marks as well. They are in clean antique condition consistent with age and history. Minor foxing is evident on the outside edges and along the folds (see photos) but is minor considering the stong dramatic imagery. These age indications lend to the pieces' authenticity and are easily minimized with matting and framing. The prints measure 12.5 x 18.75 inches in size. They each have a beautiful antique patina. They are strong and dramatic and make for impactful wall decor. See less
