Exceptional signed Palekh lacquer box titled “Maidens,” hand-painted in 1992 by artist Kononova. Includes the original Palekh Certificate of Quality (Serial No. 1616). The scene depicts richly dressed maidens in an ornate architectural interior, rendered with fine brushwork, warm gilding, and classic Palekh miniature artistry. Glossy black lacquer exterior with red lacquer interior. A premium collectible example of Russian lacquer miniature art.
