A pair of large Chinese porcelain Wucai fangtongpings, a matching pair of four sided, stout, sleeve shape vases with short … Read more A pair of large Chinese porcelain Wucai fangtongpings, a matching pair of four sided, stout, sleeve shape vases with short necks, "five-color" glazed exteriors and white glazed interiors and inset bases. The rims are glazed in gold as well as the linear part of the red and blue floral bands that decorate the shoulders of the vases. All the edges are trimmed in red and are bordered in floral bands that match those of the shoulders. The side panels are decorated with two, alternating, delightful, hand painted, scenes, one of a rock garden scene with roosters and outbuildings amid fluffy clouds and one of a rock garden scene with a rabbit and distant mountains with fluffy clouds.. Circa Republic of China period or earlier.
