This is an antique portrait of a young boy. He's holding a pot of flowers, possibly tulips. I'd like to think they're a gift for his mother, although we'll never know... The dark background and the way the light shines on one side of the boy's face gives him an almost angelic look. Late 19th century. Oil on canvas. The canvas measures 19 3/4" x 14" and is displayed in a newer gilt wood frame measuring 23" x 17 1/2". So sweet...

Condition: Light stretcher marks. There is a patched repair middle left (please see 2nd and last photo). The painting otherwise appears to be in good overall condition.
