A really beautiful example of a murano vase by Fratelli Toso and a wonderful combination of greens, burgundy and gold. Only the most highly skilled glassmakers can produce such an intricate one-of-a-kind piece.
Fratelli Toso was a famous Murano glassworks founded in 1854 by the Toso brothers. The company was known for its artistic glass, particularly its masterful use of the murrine technique (using pre-made glass rods to create intricate patterns) and its millefiori and transparent glass pieces, which were especially popular in the post-WWII era. Fratelli Toso closed its production in 1982.
