This listing is for a beautiful Kirk model 436 repousse sterling silver raised compote.
In this wonderful example of their work, the wide, rolled rim of the compote is covered with repousse and hand chased flowers and foliage. Roses, chrysanthemums, forget-me-nots, and daisies are interwoven with a variety of leaves against a fabric-like textured background. Containing this naturalistic profusion is a long jointed stem which forms the edge of the bowl. The bottom of the foot is stepped in Deco style. It is NOT weighted.
The hallmarks on the underside read 'S. Kirk & Son Inc. Sterling 436'
Measurements are: 6 1/4" wide at the top and 3 1/4" high.
It weighs 187 grams, just over 6 troy ounces of solid silver.
In great estate found condition with no monograms, no dents, cracks or repairs as shown in the photos. In order to protect your compote, we are providing a new free antitarnish flannel bag as shown in the last pic!
