Pair of antique Chinese cloisonné enamel boxes shaped as birds. Each features a removable lid, bright multicoloured enamel in turquoise, cobalt, green, red and white, with gilt copper wire outlines and an interior glazed in green enamel. The base of one box bears a gilt-oval panel with an engraved abstract motifs. The form likely dates to the early to mid-20th century (Republic era) and appears to have been produced for decorative or export purposes. Dimensions: approx. 2½″ H × 2″ W × 1″ D each
Condition: Very good antique condition overall. Some light enamel wear and oxidisation to the base rim consistent with age.
Origin: China, early 20th century.
