Superb rare 19th century Chinese Mandarin Square, otherwise known as a rank badge, worn on traditional clothing of Chinese civil officials and spouses.
This example considered worn by a female, representing grade of 7th rank civil official.
Used throughout the Qing dynasty (1644-1912), these silks look to be of very high quality.
Beautiful example.
